Denis Walsh works as an astronomy outreacher for the CIT/Blackrock Castle Observatory in Cork, as well as volunteering for Astronomy Ireland. He demonstrates basic astronomy for the general public, schools and family groups. A qualified biological scientist, he has worked in research (UCC) and environmental engineering (pharmaceutical sector). Denis is also an award-winning astrophotographer, and has had several exhibitions in galleries in Cork, themed around the Sun, Moon, Stars and Planets.
His life’s mission has become the raising of awareness of natural processes, ranging from the night (and day-time) sky, to food and ecology.
