Update May 2018
What I do with your email address and why I collect it
When you enter your email address into a sign up form hosted by The Smart Happy Project, your details are kept in an external mailing list provider. Through which I will send you the information you purchased or requested and occasional mailings on what The Smart Happy Project is doing.
In some cases you have given me permission to add your email details to the list.
I do not pass on this information to anyone else. I do not sell this information.
There will always be a link in the emails to unsubscribe or to view the info and update your settings. I host several mailing lists to automate delivery of downloaded files. You are likely to be on more than one list. But don’t worry, each will have the unsubscribe link if you think its all too much.
What I know about your data
As part of entering your email details in a hosted sign up form it will also log your IP address and your location at that point in time (city and country) if this is allowed in your device settings.
Google also provide me with data about my website visitors (this is a common service available to all website hosts at no charge) They can provide me with info on the malicious visitors and help me to block them from my site and also data on the lovely visitors to my site (that is you!). Google can tell me; what devices are most commonly used, where in the world visitors are, which pages of the site are viewed and how long visitors spend on the site.
Why do I look at this information?
This info helps me to better shape my content to suit that which my viewers (you) are looking for.
A word on social tracking
The Smart Happy Project does not use any specific tracking code within the website to target you on social platforms. If you see posts from The Smart Happy Project in your feed (great!) that may be because you have interacted with The Smart Happy Project social pages before or the social media provider is offering it to you based on themes of what you have viewed previously. I think that is what is referred to as ‘organic’ but is not to be confused with a vegetable.
